How our flea control treatment works
The treatment method and follow-up are selected for the pest, property and inspection findings.
Find and address the source
We look at the whole property history — pets, visiting animals, rodents, wildlife, bird or bat activity, and resting or nesting areas — because treating floors without addressing the animal source can allow fleas to return.
Target the environment, not just the adults
Adult fleas are only one stage of the problem. Eggs, larvae, and pupae develop in the environment, so treatment and sanitation focus on carpets, furniture, cracks, pet resting areas, and other places where the life cycle can continue.
Plan for follow-up
Flea pupae are protected inside cocoons and can emerge after the first service. We explain what activity is normal afterward and whether follow-up treatment is needed for the level of infestation found.
How to prepare for your flea control visit
Follow your technician's preparation instructions before the appointment.
Vacuum thoroughly
- Vacuum carpets, rugs, upholstered furniture, pet resting areas, and baseboard edges before service.
- Empty the vacuum outdoors after use and continue regular vacuuming as directed after treatment.
Wash removable fabrics
- Wash pet bedding, blankets, removable covers, and washable fabrics using the hottest safe settings for the material.
- Keep cleaned items separate from untreated areas until the service plan is complete.
Coordinate pet treatment
- If pets are present, speak with your veterinarian about an appropriate flea-control product.
- Treating the property while leaving an untreated animal host can allow the flea cycle to continue.
Tell us about other animal sources
- Let us know about recent mice, rats, raccoons, squirrels, opossums, bird nests, bats, or other animal activity.
- Point out attics, crawl spaces, decks, sheds, garages, or wall areas where animals have nested or travelled.
Before your visit
A quick checklist to discuss with your technician.
After your treatment: what to expect
Your technician explains what to monitor and when to get in touch.
- Some flea activity can continue temporarily as adults emerge from protected pupal cocoons after the first service.
- Continue vacuuming and sanitation according to the technician's instructions to help remove developing stages and stimulate emergence.
- Keep pet flea control on the veterinarian-recommended schedule where pets are part of the source.
- Contact us if activity is not declining as expected so we can review the source and follow-up plan.

Flea Control FAQs
Common questions about flea control in Southwestern Ontario.
Can I have fleas even if I do not have pets?
Yes. Rodents, raccoons, squirrels, opossums, stray animals, and other animal sources can introduce fleas. A previous rodent or wildlife problem can also leave fleas behind after the animal is gone.
Why am I still seeing fleas after cleaning?
Flea pupae develop inside protective cocoons and can emerge later when they detect movement or body heat. That is why cleaning alone may not end an established infestation immediately.
Do I need to treat my pet too?
If a pet is part of the infestation, the pet and home usually need to be addressed on the same timeline. Ask your veterinarian which flea-control product is appropriate for your animal.
Can I have a flea problem for months even if I do not have pets?
Customers do report flea-like biting and flea sightings in homes without pets. In that situation, we inspect the property history and look for possible animal or environmental sources before deciding on the treatment plan.
Do you guarantee flea treatment?
We confirm the treatment scope, follow-up schedule, preparation requirements, and any written service-guarantee terms that apply to your property before you book.
